AMERICAN RECORDER 1/4 Inch Plug & Jack Cleaning Tool

$ 24.95
SKU TL-1056-TRS

Over time, the metal connections of ¼ inch plugs and jacks are exposed to dirt, dust, moisture and other contaminants.  In addition, these metal connections will also oxidize over time.  This accumulation of oxidation and contaminants can cause loss of signal, noise and poor audio.

Regular cleaning of the male and female connections of 1/4 inch connectors will assure your equipment delivers the best signal and sound quality.  The AMERICAN RECORDER 1/4 Inch Jack and Plug Tool has a specially designed nylon brush and cylinder pin pad sized for exact fit and maximum contact with metal surfaces of 1/4 inch connectors.  The knurled aluminum handle delivers a sure grip and control when in use.

This tool also Includes a tube of DeoxIT® D-Series contact/connector treatment, which removes oxides and sulfides that form on metal surfaces, restoring the contact's integrity and leaves a thin microscopic layer that protects the metal.  Special additives improve conductivity and prevents oxides from re-attaching, keeping them in suspension and allowing them to be easily dispersed by the cleaning tool

I do like the set for the most part

I do like the set for the most part. The only problems are that the foam inserts used for the male plug cleaning function for each tool do not stay/stick in place, especially the XLR male cleaning tool. They will slide deeper into the body of the tool itself requiring the time to pull them back to position to continue cleaning. I foresee the foam pieces wearing out, getting torn, or getting lost because of this, so do you have replacement foams available? Also, the XLR female cleaning tool does not fit into the majority of the female slots on the different makes of cable or XLR jacks on various processing gear. Again I like the idea, and that they work otherwise, but it's a shame that I can't fit the cleaning tool into the majority of those XLR jacks.
